It is proven and well known that the sound of water and the observation of it has incredible psychological benefits. Water reduces muscle tension and join stress. Blue is the color of the mind and its essentially soothing; it effects us mentally. Strong blue stimulate clear thoughts and lighter soft blues calms the mind. Water has a profound impact on how we feel.
The image of water, especially if it's an original art, similarly, has a fantastic effect on us, whether it is an effect of the blue color, or bringing us the best memories of being by the water. I believe, that in stead of bringing lots of bright colors into our homes as suggested by the many ads, we must be very thoughtful and careful on what we surround ourselves with. I personally don't believe that our home needs to be over decorated with lots of bright objects. Instead, I would suggest to have minimum number of objects, carefully chosen to bring a sense of peace and harmony into the place of our rest. The outside world is highly overstimulating enough.
So, if your happiest place is by the water, then an original painting of water will be the right choice to have in your home.
