"Lynx Run Wilderness" is impressionistic oil landscape.
The story behind the painting process:
Where do I start and what kind of color palette to choose to reflect what I feel now? How do I express that overwhelming feeling of Harmony in Nature, her logics and fluidity, her symmetry and unexpectedness, her enigmatic colors, shapes, voices, smells- everything that deeply affect us as the most powerful element in our well-being?
The most important thing for me is not to look upon the landscape from above the Humans’ pedestal but to express exactly how I feel: I am one of them. We are together. We are oneness.
I know for certain that I do not want to make any portrait style realistic photographic landscape. I want it to be just as enigmatic and subtle as nature is. Just hinting by leaving lots of space for quiet thoughtfulness and imagination. So that the viewer can look at this canvas for hours, wandering around and discovering unusual associations on and on. That’s the goal.
And all of this needs to be done in just one painting session (that, by the way, has a name of “Alla Prima”) without coming back next day or later at all for any additions or editing.
In order to paint in this style, one must intentionally develop a deep trust in one’s artistic intuition without questioning the process and the results. One must believe that he/she is somehow led by some sort of power or energy or intuition or an ancestral wisdom.
