To me, chicory is one of the most enigmatic flower due to its indescribably stunning blue color, that I have been trying to capture in my many portraits of this wildflower. Why “bliss”? That’s how I felt, when just a few day ago, slowly drove along the countryside road to pick up a few wildflowers for my art studio in order to study them and capture their beauty on canvas. On that day, at the beginning of a very hot August here in West Michigan, that countryside field turned into such fascinating color of yellow ochre to even more emphasize that enigmatic blue. I was overwhelmed with pure bliss!
